Read the Room!
A very long blog update mostly about my vacation with my family
I want to start out by saying that I truly love my parents and everything they do for me. I would not be where I am if it wasn’t for them. I could also be much further in life if they would have helped me like they helped my siblings. But that is another story, for another day. Right now, I have to write about my vacation before the trauma blocks out most of my recall.
My mom and dad purchased a Monday-Monday stay at a 3-bedroom condo in a high rise on the beach of Fort Morgan. These dates included the Fourth of July, which many of you already know from some of the notes I posted about my vacation. What we didn’t know when she reserved it was that the clubhouse at the condominium puts on a Firework show on the Fourth every year, right on the beach, that you can watch from your balcony. She rented this after her and I discussed a beach vacation, which she had been saying she wanted to do for years, and right after my husband’s therapist said he needed time off from work. Max’s aunt and uncle live not too far from Fort Morgan and he left Tuesday to stay with them. He was going to stay Monday night as well, but he didn’t schedule the dog’s grooming in time, and she wasn’t going to be ready in time Monday for him to be able to leave.
I was going to attempt to come down on Wednesday night after work, but my son went to Six Flags over Georgia with a friend and his parents and got back much later than I thought they were. His mom had originally said 7 pm but they decided to stay until close. It was fine. I am glad he had a good time at Six Flags.
I borrowed my mom’s car because my air is still out in mine. I drove my son and his friend, leaving early Thursday morning, and we arrived around lunch time. They had driven down in their truck. My niece and a friend had ridden along with my parents when they went down Monday, and my sister drove down Wednesday night, leaving Friday. She ended up leaving Friday morning. I am surprised she even came at all. She vowed never to go on another vacation with my parents after our Flagstaff/Scottsdale/Sedona trip. She took the girls back with her when she left Friday. My husband joined my family on Wednesday night thinking that I was driving down. So, my sister ended up taking our bedroom that night, and he slept on the pull-out. He later told me while we were sitting on the beach that she walked up to him and said, “I am going to sleep in your room tonight since Fiona isn’t here, and you can sleep on the pull-out.” He said she was rude about it. I asked him if he wanted me to say something to her and he said no. He said he would have offered her the bedroom anyway; it was just the way it happened. I didn’t witness her being rude to him the rest of the trip, so I am glad I didn’t have to say anything to her.
Early Thursday morning, while I was on my way, my husband called and said that the hall bathroom that the back two bedrooms share, join with the bedroom that my sister was sleeping in, and she had locked it in the hallway and he had to pee really bad. He told me later he spent hours waiting on her to wake up and open the door. It’s easy to do, I ended up accidentally doing it several times when we had the room, but luckily when I did it, it was during the day, and our bedroom door was open, and it was an easy fix.
When I got into the condo on Thursday, I was so hungry. I think as soon as I hit the coast, I didn’t stop eating until we finished the ice cream at Peach Park on the way back - a scoop of peach cheesecake and one blueberry. Yes, Lord.
My husband’s aunt and uncle wanted to make reservations for us at an Italian restaurant and include my whole family. She made them for Friday night until she found out my sister wasn’t going to be there Friday night. So, she changed the reservations to Thursday. My mom told my sister that I made the reservations and was changing them to Thursday. She told mom to tell me to keep the Friday reservations in case she didn’t feel like driving all the way out to Gulf Shores Thursday, and so when I told his aunt this, she thought she meant she wanted to keep the Friday reservation, so she cancelled the Thursday one. So, when we showed up Friday night his aunt was surprised my sister wasn’t there, and my sister never even knew it was her who had invited her. Then my mom made my sister feel bad for not coming. I’ll get to the dinner in a moment. Let me go back to Thursday.
When I arrived at the condo with the boys, and after I stuffed a cheeseburger down my throat, we all decided we’d go to the beach with the tent. My husband had suggested he and I take the tent down and set it up, but my mom told him that my dad would help him. My sister and I walked down to the beach with our floats. We found where the girls had set their stuff and put our floats in the water near there. My mom joined us. My son’s friend had stayed in the condo to rest from waking up so early, and my son was already down with the girls. She told my son that Max and my dad needed him and he went up to help. We got out of the water and found out where the tents were set up and moved all of our stuff over there. The sand was extremely hot and this was not fun. But I was still happy to be on the beach. My mom texted my dad where we were going to set up.
After we moved our stuff, we all got on our floats again and went out into the water. After a few moments, I realized how far away we had gotten from the tent and made my back over there. I started to wonder if my mom had given good enough instructions to my dad. My mom followed me, realizing when she saw me moving back towards the beach that maybe she hadn’t given good enough instructions either. When we got there, my husband had seen me and met me at the place where our stuff was. He said they couldn’t find us so they set up at another spot. We moved the stuff to the tent and I realized my son wasn’t there. “Where’s Arlo?” He told me he never showed up to the room so they left without him. I combed the water and the beach and then decided to head back up to the condo, hoping if he had gotten mixed up, he’d just go back there. He had. He said that when he got to the condo, they had left. So he went back down to the beach but couldn’t find anyone in the water or where my husband and dad had set up the tent, so he went back up to the condo. I was worried until I found him in the condo. You may wonder why, since he is 14, but he has bad ADHD and I have learned my lesson with him the hard way. I was afraid he was somewhere on the beach walking around looking for everyone and I felt awful. I felt bad that he had gone down and couldn’t find us at all. He came down to the beach with me and we floated on some waves. My husband joined. He carried me around a while on my float and snuck in a few grabs of my pussy under the water, smirking and laughing like the bad guy’s dog from Rainbow Bright.
My sister took the kids to get ice cream and we decided to sit under the tent a while. When it was time to go in and get ready for dinner, we left the tent up, deciding we’d come back and get it after dinner and sit a little longer.
Before we left for dinner, my niece came out in a cute outfit and stuck her phone up on the glass with a suction thing. She started doing a Tik Tok dance and then showed me her progression video, and then more progression videos. And then even more progression videos. “I think I am going to change into a dress and make one more progression.” I told her what she had on was cute, and she then said, “Oh I’ll put this back on, it’s just for the progression.” In the end, she decided she didn’t have time. Her and her other friend who shares the same name with her, spent the majority of their time at the beach making content.
We decided that night we’d stay close to Fort Morgan to eat, but the restaurant that was recommended to Max was closed. We chose to eat at the clubhouse restaurant at the Condo. The prices were insane. My son wanted to order oysters, and I told him he could if his friend shared them with him. His friend agreed but said he wanted his own meal. I studied the menu for something else for my son and found an add-on of garlic shrimp that wasn’t a dish anywhere else. The only other grilled shrimp was on a very expensive sea food platter. I told him he could get it and some fries instead of the oysters and he agreed. The shrimp was $21. When the waitress came around, he said he wanted a side salad. The waitress said, “Caesar or wedge” and he said Caesar. That was another $15. I told him I didn’t care, as long as he ate it all. He didn’t, but my niece ended up finishing it off. She also showed me more progression videos. She and her friend filmed more content on the balcony of the club house. Then they showed me more progression videos.
Most of us didn’t enjoy our food, and spending the kind of money we did makes it taste even worse.
When we got back to the condo we headed to the beach to sit in chairs. My husband and I arrived first, and then my parents. My sister came last, and after sitting on the sand a while, decided to take a walk on the beach. When the conversation started turning political, and my dad made the statement that democrats made such a big deal about Ivermectin because they wanted Republicans to die, I decided to go up to the room. It was the perfect opportunity for me to grab some ice cream out of the freezer - Blue Bell Cookies and Cream my parents had bought earlier in the week. I ate ice cream and watched some TV. The kids were all down at the pool and it was the only time I had the condo to myself. I relished the 20 minutes.
When it was time for bed, my sister took our air mattress into the 3rd bedroom with twin beds the girls were sleeping in, and we rearranged the furniture to make it fit.
Friday morning, I woke up to my husband’s dick rubbing up against my ass, and I turned around and started rubbing it.
“Want a quickie?”, I asked him. He stood up and locked the doors then walked to the foot of the bed without saying a word. When that was over, I took a shower and started breakfast for everyone.
I didn't think my sister was leaving so early and thought that she was still asleep. Halfway through the bacon frying, she came in from the balcony and told me to come spend time with them before they left.
I asked her why she was leaving and she said it was because her husband, who has an autoimmune disease, was ready for her to come home. My mom believes this was just an excuse to leave because the noise of such a full condo was stressing her out. My mom wanted us all to get a big family photo on the balcony and while we were trying to figure out how to take a picture with everyone with my husband’s Galaxy phone and stylus, I remembered my niece’s suction cup thing and suggested she go get it. She did and slapped it on the back of Max’s phone and stuck it up on the glass. We took a few photos and then they were on the road.
We took the tent back to the beach and set it up, this time just my husband and I. My mom and dad joined a little later. While we were alone, my husband told me dad approached him and apologized for turning the conversation political the night before. That surprised me, but he never once apologized to me. I moved to the pool for a while and then back to the beach. We decided to go in around 2:30 to get ready for our dinner at the Italian restaurant. We had decided earlier that day to leave the tent up again.
“I don’t want to do this”, I said to my husband on the way to the restaurant. We were in separate vehicles than my parents because we had the two boys. Not only were we going to eat with them, but we were supposed to go back to their house after, to play games and eat dessert. My parents are extremely conservative and religious charismatics. My husband’s aunt and uncle are…not. They are all very opinionated. We agreed that if they start arguing, we were going to just leave. That is when I remembered the tent. “Oh no! The tent! We had said we would come back later and get it but it will be after dark and they will dispose of it after dark.” We panicked for a moment, before realizing that we could just use it as a reason not to stay very long at their house, making sure we’d get back to the tent in time.
At the restaurant, his aunt and uncle ordered cocktails. My dad started looking over the authentic Italian menu and started asking everyone what the closest dish to spaghetti was. We all said bolognese but he still, embarrassingly, asked the waitress. She also agreed with us. My dad is hard of hearing. He sat at the head of the table as the man does, instead of sitting in the middle of everyone where he could hear the conversation and join in. What ended up happening is his aunt being interrupted my dad - many times - when he would decide since he couldn’t hear, he wouldn’t be a part of the group and would start up little side conversations with my son and his friend. His aunt took it in stride and later my mom explained to her that he couldn’t hear anything and that’s why that happened. I didn’t point out the actual flaw in this, that he could have decided to sit in the middle of everyone and actually talked to the people who invited him out. We ended up buying everyone’s dinner that night. Our parents for inviting us to the condo, and his aunt and uncle for keeping the dog for us. We announced this at the beginning of dinner. Halfway through my dad’s bolognese, he started complaining that it was nothing like spaghetti, but that he “guesses it will do”. He took the rest of my son’s shrimp scampi because he needed to “eat something that tasted good”. Then he said that wasn’t that great either. My son said it was good. I loved my chicken piccata. Everyone else said their food was delicious.
When we got to their house they gave a quick tour and then we had sugar free yellow cake with a fruit topping. At some point when my mom and dad were being shown something by Max’s uncle, his aunt pointed out that she hid their “Alabama for Harris” sign before my parents got there behind a mirror propped behind the wall. She said she was warned by Max how opinionated they were and wanted to avoid a fight. She was laughing at herself about it and was lighthearted, but I felt bad that my parents can’t behave.
While we were eating, we started talking about how the party at the club house on the fourth was going to have fire dancers, and that we knew that dad would want to go because he loved the hula dancers in Hawaii. The man wouldn’t stop talking about how “athletic” they were for months after their return. This made him laugh, but my mistake was bringing up Hawaii, because they immediately started talking about their trip. Of course, they had to bring up the Japanese population there. The conversation was fine at first, his aunt and uncle sharing their experience talking to natives and the Japanese population there, and then Pearl Harbor, and my husband’s grandfather, his uncle’s dad, being in Pearl Harbor. But then my dad brought up Trump making the joke about Pearl Harbor to the Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and his aunt said, “Oh yeah, that was so disrespectful.” My dad chuckled and said he thought it was funny and my mom agreed. Then he started talking about how annoying his tour guide was because he had a political agenda against the white and Japanese populations and wouldn’t stop talking about it. Then he started mocking a Japanese person. When these things start to happen, I fold in on myself. I put my head to the table and willed myself to disappear. I know I should be more vocal, but it never does any good to question him or disagree with him. My mom butted in. “Roger, look what you are doing to your daughter. Read the room. Do you see what she’s doing?”
That was my cue to stand up and thank everyone for dessert and get the fuck out of there with Max, using the tents as an excuse. My son and his friend drove back to the condo with my parents. They stopped by a store to get some sunscreen and my son some flip flops. I had gone to the store earlier that week and couldn’t find the flip flops and got him some swim shoes, which he refused to wear. Of course, I ended up seeing the flip flops at that same store when I didn’t need to find them, when stocking up on burger supplies for the fourth. On the way home, it was quiet for a few beats, until I said, “Look what you’re doing to your daughter!” and my husband followed with “read the room”. I gave some props to his aunt for handling everything so well. Now we just needed to get through the rest of the trip. Because my mom had invited them both over to watch the firework show on our balcony the next night for the fourth.
That night after we took the tent down and brought it up to the condo, my husband, son, and dad and I got our bathing suits on and went to the pool. My husband got in the hot tub with me for a minute, but it was too hot for him. My dad and son went up, and my husband and I dried off on a swing facing the ocean and he started to get up too soon for my liking. “I wanted to make out a little”. He sat down and leaned over and obliged me for a moment, then sat up and groaned. “Are you uncomfortable?” I asked. He said yes, but not because of the bench, but because I have to poop”.
“Why didn’t you just say so? Let’s go.”
The next morning, my husband I got up early, set the tent up, then drove to Gulf State Park. He had brought our bikes down in his truck. He took me to get a biscuit to go at a place called Duck’s Diner and the waitress ended up forgetting my food and I had waited longer than I needed to. I am learning I am not as assertive as I should be. The biscuit was delicious.
We did a 6 mile loop around the park. It was hot. The top of my arms, including my tattoo, was burned, so I wore a t-shirt. I hated it. I had wanted to wear my tank top. I could feel the sun burning my tattoo through the t-shirt. This week, pieces of tinted skin have been peeling off my tattoo.
Bike riding is new to my husband as an adult and it’s the one thing he has agreed to as far as exercise. He was a trooper about it. He still isn’t the biggest fan. This time he didn’t try to race me in the beginning, completely exhausting himself before the ride was over. He kept a good pace. I am happy to announce he told my son he’d start going to the gym with us too, starting next week.
We stopped at a store on our way to the condo to get the supplies needed for dinner, like I had mentioned before. I also stocked up on more sunscreen since the boys and I were going to the water park the next day, and some coke zeros. The day before, my husband had thrown mine away when cleaning the kitchen because he was upset at the number of half-drunk sodas everywhere. I had a lot of words about it and my mom defended him for a while, but then on our last night there, when we were alone on the balcony, eating more ice cream, she told me she had told him he better not throw the cokes away.
I took a little nap when we got back to the condo and then ate a turkey sandwich before heading to the beach.
More floating happened. More tenting happened.
About 30 minutes before his aunt and uncle arrived for the show, I walked into the living room to find my dad watching the fourth of July celebration coverage on Fox News. I sat there for a few minutes with him, playing on my phone. Every two minutes, they were talking bad about democrats or the left. Even during somber moments. It was incredible to me how anyone can watch this shit. And I feel that way about all national news coverage, not just Fox. I would rather watch the BBC or Al-Jazeera. In fact, I watch the BBC coverage of elections. I started to say something to my dad about turning off the TV when Max’s aunt and uncle arrived, but as soon as the thought entered my mind, I had overwhelming anxiety and walked out onto the balcony where Max was vaping. The boys were sitting outside on the chairs looking over the pool. I sat down beside him and pulled out my vape from my bra. “Dad is watching Fox. I don’t want him to watch it while they are here.” He told me to just tell him. He gave me a little pep talk and I walked back in. Then he saluted the television. I walked straight into the kitchen to see if mom needed help with dinner. She didn’t. I walked back outside and told Max I couldn’t do it. “He just saluted the TV. I need you to talk to him. He won’t attack you for saying something about it. I can’t do it.” He agreed. When we went in, my dad was in the kitchen with my mom. I took the remote and turned the television off. My husband gave me two thumbs up and headed down the hallway to take a shower. But then my dad said, “Who turned the TV off? I’m watching that”. My husband froze and started to walk back in the kitchen. Thankfully, my mom said, “Roger, we don’t need it on while we have guests. That’s rude.” He responded like I knew he would. “I am watching that celebration. I wanted to watch the jets.” My mom suggested that we turn it back on until they got there and my dad agreed and said he would turn it off when they arrived. My husband said, “Thank you, Roger”. My dad said, “For what?”
“For saying you’d turn it off when they got here. That means a lot to me.”
“I don’t understand why I have to turn it off in the condo that I paid for”.
My husband didn’t miss a beat. “Would you want to watch CNN?”
“Hell no!” My mom, ever so pious, yelled out, “Roger! Don’t talk like that in front of your daughter.”
“I wouldn’t watch the Communist News Network”.
“Well, it’s the same for them with Fox News. It’s just respectful if you have invited them over as guests.”
My dad grumbled that he was going to watch it in his bedroom, and my husband turned on some random news network that highlights major stories, that was showing the celebration. Max headed to take his shower and when he walked down the hall he turned around and winked at me. Talk about a turn on. My dad did turn Fox on in the bedroom and would leave everyone periodically to go watch it. I saw him salute a couple more times in the doorway to their bedroom. We had planned on playing some games after dinner, but everyone moved to the balcony. His uncle is deaf and no one knew sign except his wife, so he was getting lost when people were talking. I am learning sign for this reason. I want to be able to communicate with him and be able to take care of him when is aging. It’s not safe for deaf people in a nursing home. I could tell he was getting frustrated, so I offered to take him on a walk on the beach. My husband, son, and dad decided to come with us. We had seen people walk down to the beach, despite being told it was closed. It was people who were just walking. But when we got down there, the boardwalk was closed. So, me and his uncle sat on a bench facing the beach and my dad and son threw the football on the sidewalk. My husband went back to the condo. After a few minutes, we went back up to the condo. I stayed in the air conditioning. I was exhausted and my peopler stopped peopling. People came back in and some got dessert, including me. Then my mom reminded everyone when they were almost done that there was hot fudge and everyone decided later, we’d just eat more dessert and add hot fudge. I liked this idea. Before the fireworks show, I went to the bedroom to vape, since my parents do not know that I do, and if they did, I’d never hear the end of it. I was told the show was about to start and I headed to the balcony.
The fireworks show was the best I had ever been to or experienced. I could feel the vibrations in my soul, in my brain. I felt so many things at once. I started thinking about what the soldiers on battlefields have to be experiencing and then what soldiers with PTSD must be feeling right about then. My empathy guns were firing, I was on edge waiting for something to happen, and I was ready for the night to be over. Thankfully, after second dessert, his aunt and uncle were ready to leave. I immediately went and laid down and started falling asleep. I heard the TV come on almost immediately. Fox.
My husband was leaving the next day, and we had planned on having sex that night. We had already done it Thursday night, but I wanted some more before he left. But instead, he crawled into bed and woke me up from a dead sleep, and I vaguely remember him squeezing a tit before I was back in dreamland. The next morning, I was being a complete brat about him leaving. I knew he couldn’t help it, but the brat in me was coming out. It’s how I deal with things that I can’t control. I don’t mean anything by it, and if he would just learn to just play along with me and give me extra attention when I am being a brat, then everything would be fine. Something we need to talk about in therapy. One of us is gonna have to change, and it’s probably gonna have to be me. I asked him why he didn’t wake me up and he said he tried but I was snoring. “You were tired, babe”. I told him I heard Fox News come on immediately after I laid down and he said, “I know. I turned it on for him”.
“That was nice of you”. I didn’t say anything else. Turns out the celebration had been postponed due to a storm and my dad didn’t end up missing anything. They all enjoyed the fireworks show, including my husband. He said it was like the one at the condo, but times “10,000”. I was still glad I slept through that. It was such a wonderful sleep.
That morning we met up with his aunt and uncle at Duck’s Diner again, along with a deaf friend of theirs. She is the most adorable person. Reminds me so much of my granny, besides the being deaf, which my Granny was not. At least not legally.
After breakfast, my husband drove to their house to pick the dog up, and I took the boys to the water park. It started storming as soon as we got to OWA, so we detoured to the Foley Tanger Outlet Mall. This detour wasn’t expected, so my son’s friend had not brought his money. I told him we would come back the next day. My son went to two stores and spent way too much money on too expensive things, and he still didn’t get all that he needed. Stressed. I bought some clearance items from Torrid. Two bras, a sports bra and a hot pink lacy one that is the most amazing fitting bra I have ever had. I love it. I need more, maybe in one cup down. I never know because I have two different sized boobs from a botched reduction. But still, it fits good enough, on at least one boob, and it is so soft. The sports bra is pretty nice too. I also got a sweatshirt that was an incredible price. Hung it up in my closet. Too hot to wear now.
When Max called me on his way home to ask what I was doing, I was still acting like a brat to him. He hung up on me after a curt goodbye. I immediately texted him and said I was sorry, I just wish he could have made it work to stay longer, and I wanted more alone time with him. Talked about maybe starting to plan our long past due honeymoon.
The water park was nice. I had planned on doing water slides, but instead, I got in the lazy river and then laid out. The boys headed to the theme park section first. They wanted to eat at a sub place and I was getting hungry, so I went to a restaurant in the OWA shopping center while the boys continued their roller coaster riding. I drank a High Noon and ate a salad, some Kraft Macaroni and Cheese, which I have never ordered at a restaurant before, and chicken fingers.
I headed back to the park, thinking I might get on a slide or two. Instead, I got back in the lazy river. My son was riding all of the two person slides with his friend, and the thought of walking up the stairs after the mac and cheese was horrifying. I should have done it. I regret it now. A little. I was really happy to be alone and floating. No one talking to me. No one bothering me. No one needing me. I just sat under an umbrella outside by the wave pool or floated down the lazy river. It was what I needed. Rest. My son said I was lame. Maybe I am.
We didn’t get back until late and went to bed. But not before my mom and I enjoyed dessert out on the balcony.
The next morning, I woke up with terrible stomach cramps. I didn’t wonder why. I could hear my mom and dad moving around in the condo, obviously getting ready to go. I couldn’t move. After about 30 minutes, the cramps stopped. Oh, the joys of living with IBS. I am usually very careful about what I eat, but I was eating like I hadn’t eaten in a REALLY long time on vacation. Enjoying myself way too much. This has been a pattern for me, I realize. I eat when I am in high anxiety inducing situations. I realized I had done a lot of eating and sleeping on this vacation.
We barely made it out in time before check-out. Getting everything out to the cars was way too complicated because of my parents. I can’t even really express into words why and I won’t try. Just no, be glad you didn’t have to deal with it. When we were all finally packed up we took off. My parents headed north and the boys and I headed to see Max’s aunt and uncle. She had some more sugar free brownies for us and banana bread from the almost rotten bananas my mom had given her at the condo.
She told me Max had told her about the Fox News thing and told me I didn’t have to worry about stuff like that with her. I told her that I knew, but I just wanted to help him learn how to be respectful to others, AND I wanted to respect her. I really like her. It was a rocky start at first. Some things happened that made me thing she didn’t like me and that maybe she was messy, but over time I have grown to love her so much. And she loves me too. I love both of them. And I am learning sign.
We headed to the Tanger Outlet Mall again and sent the boys in to let my son’s friend spend his money. When they went into the Nike Store, I just sat in my car. But then I drove them to Under Armor, it was right next to Torrid. I went back in, and this time, I looked at the pants that were not on clearance but had a sale on. I also bought two shirts. I spent way too much money. Oh, forgot to mention that the day before I bought two dresses and some work pants at Old Navy. The pants that I bought are the best pants I have ever owned. Curvy girls, go get you some Torrid Pixie black pants. I got some boot-cut skinny. I want to wear them every day.
As I mentioned before, we stopped at Peach Park and enjoyed some ice cream in the car. It was raining. We got it from the little gas station next door, which also serves their ice cream and lunch. I couldn’t finish my ice cream, but I enjoyed having the two flavors. I have been good since then. Vacation is over. Need to take care of my body. I really haven’t felt the need to eat like that either. I really do think it has something to do with being around my parents that long.
I panicked on my way home that my parents may have accidentally gotten my suitcase and would see all my sex toys. They didn’t. It didn’t stop the several panic attacks I had before I checked.
My husband gave me lovin’ that night when I got home. Things have been good between us. We’ve actually done it twice since I got home.
And as far as the rest of the state of Fiona. My dad is turning 70 this month and I am stressed over planning that party.
I started Macros and been consistent in the gym. Work has been pretty awesome and chill. *Knock on all the wood*
I know I haven’t been writing a lot, been taking days to respond on Notes, haven’t been reading a lot, and I haven’t done my Fiona’s Featured in a couple of weeks. I have just been trying to make good habits and during vacation I really tried to disconnect. Substack has fallen behind a little bit in all of this restructuring. I think I just needed a break. It took me a good minute to even sit down and write this. But I knew it needed to be documented. I didn’t mean for it to be this long.
Thank you to anyone who made it down here. You deserve a cookie. Comment and I will comp you a month.

Aw, I really enjoyed reading about your vacation and your family! It was almost like being there. You sound good.❤️
